Reports have suggested that Gyokeres is open to a move to United this summer but he has now hit back at the weight of reporting suggesting he is set for a big-money transfer. He has a release clause of £85 million ($114m) but is said to be available for around £60m ($81m).
WHAT GYOKERES SAID
Gyokeres told Vogue Scandinavia: "Clickbait. These days, there's sports news 24 hours a day. They come up with topics to keep the cycle going."
He also dropped a potential hint about his future by claiming that he would find it "difficult" to play in a cold country once again after living in Portugal, adding: "In Sweden, people work hard during the week and only socialize on the weekend. Here, it's much livelier during the week. You have dinner with friends and have a glass of wine on Monday. I like that. After living in a hot country, it would be difficult [to return to a colder country]."
