When Does Super Mario Galaxy Come Out on Switch?
Super Mario Galaxy was initially released for the Wii in November 2007. The sequel became available in May 2010, less than three years later. These two Nintendo games were critically acclaimed and beloved by fans, which is why so many wanted them on the Switch.
Both Super Mario Galaxy games will launch for the Nintendo Switch, individually and in a bundle, on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Like most first-party games on Nintendo systems, the game is expected to become available at midnight local time. However, players in the Pacific timezone should be able to launch the game a few hours earlier, as it comes out at 12 AM ET (October 2), which is 9 PM PT (October 1).
Players can purchase the Super Mario Galaxy games individually for $39.99 each. However, if they’re looking into obtaining the original Super Mario Galaxy as well as the sequel, it is best to get the bundle, which features the two games at a discounted price of $69.99.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 are being released for the original Switch, but a free update will be available for the Switch 2, allowing players to experience the game in 4K in TV mode and 1080p in handheld mode.
